“My soul is in a hurry”

I counted my years and discovered I have less time to live from now on than I’ve lived so far. I feel like that child who won a package of candies; he savored the first ones with delight, but when he realized there were few left, he began to relish them deeply.

I no longer have time for endless meetings where statutes, rules, procedures, and internal regulations are discussed, knowing nothing will be achieved. I no longer have time to tolerate absurd people who, despite their chronological age, haven’t grown up.

My time is scarce for debating titles. I want the essence; my soul is in a hurry… With few candies left in the package… I want to live alongside genuinely human people. Those who laugh at their mistakes, don’t boast about their triumphs, aren’t self-righteous, don’t shy away from responsibilities, defend human dignity, and desire only to walk alongside truth and honesty.

What’s essential makes life worthwhile. I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch hearts… People whom life’s harsh blows have taught to grow with gentle soulful touches.

Yes…, I’m in a hurry…, I’m in a hurry to live with the intensity only maturity can provide. I intend not to waste any of the candies I have left… I’m sure they’ll be more exquisite than those I’ve eaten so far.

My goal is to reach the end satisfied and at peace with loved ones and my conscience.

“We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”
